Students wishing to enter undergraduate course must have completed 12 years of schooling (H.S.C. equivalent). Applicant
must be from seventeen to twenty-one years old as of
April 1 of the year in which the student arrives in Japan.

(4) Teacher Training Student (Monbukagakusho: MEXT)
This scholarship is available for Primary and Secondary School Teachers who wish to conduct research on school education at Japanese universities. Applicants must be graduate of a university or a teacher-training school and have worked as a teacher of an primary or secondary educational institution for at least five years in total, as of April 1 of the year in which he/she will apply.
