Bangladesh Japan Society was established in 1973 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. According to the Constitution of the Society, the aims and objectives are "to unite the nationals of Bangladesh who are interested to develop a mutual bond of friendship and fellow feelings amongst the citizen of Bangladesh and Japan and to promote cultural, economic, technical, literary, social and humanitarian activities between the two peoples".
The organization of the society has a 30-member Executive Committee headed by the President. The current President of the society is Mr. M. Morshed Khan, M. P.
The member of Bangladesh Japan Society believe that the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries are developing steadily and they desire that with the cooperation f the Embassy of Japan in Dhaka, the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Japan will further deepen and broaden over a wide spectrum of fields including politics, economics and culture.
Japan, being the NO. 1 donor country for Bangladesh and has been very active in economic and industrial developments from the very birth of independent Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Japan Society, during the last twenty seven years has been playing its due role in further strengthening the friendly ties that has been so happily existing between the governments of Bangladesh and Japan and also between the two peoples.
