Types of MEXT scholarship in Bangladesh
(1)University Reccomendation (Research and Undergraduate)
a)University Recommendation is a type of selection that students are recommended to MEXT by the Japanese university which will accept you as a research student. The applicants submit their applications to Japanese Unviersities directly, and the selected candidates are recommended to MEXT from each university. MEXT conducts a screening and selects scholarship grantees at the end of June. They normally arrive in Japan in the end of September.b) The qualification and eligibility varies according to each university. Please visit website of Japanese universities for the details. c) The application period normally starts in November-December and ends in January-February.
(2) Embassy Reccomendation (Research, Undergraduate, College of Technology, Specialized Training College)
In this type of scholarship, recipients are recruited and initially screened by Embassy of Japan.

▪For Master’s Course, those who have completed a bachelor’s course or have 16 years of school education.
▪For Doctoral Course who have completed a master’s course or have 18 years of school education.
▪Only Bangladehsi national can apply from Bangladesh

All through first class (Mark 60% or CGPA 3.5 out of 4)

3. Teacher's Training
Course duration▪6 months training course + 1 year Masters Level course
*Note that this is a non-degree training course
Eligibility to apply
▪Age below 35 as of April 1 of the scholarship receiving year.
▪Must be graduate of universities or teacher training schools and have worked as teachers at elementary or secondary educational institutions or teacher training schools and have 5 years experience.
▪Only Bangladehsi national can apply from Bangladesh
▪Participants are required to resume their job as teachers after completing the course.

4. College of Technology
Those who are enrolled in a course of study or in an advanced course at a college of technology, or who are receiving preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects prior to placement at the college of technology. Under the application guidelines, MEXT calls for applicants who will study in a one-year preparatory course and then will be enrolled into the third year of the course at the college of technology and receive specialized education for three years (in the case of maritime engineering, for three and a half years.)

Duration
3 years (After graduation from a Technical college in Bangladesh, the student will be admitted to the 3rd year of bachelor course in Japanese college as a transfer student.
Eligibility to apply
▪Applicants must satisfy any one of the following conditions.
(1) Applicants who have completed 11 years of schooling in countries other than Japan at the time of travelling to Japan.
(2) Other than the above (1) condition, applicants who are eligible for transfer admission to a third-year course at a college of technology at the time of application.
▪Completed school education comparable to a high school (a minimum of 11 years beginning from primary school) education (includes prospective graduates).

5. Specialized Training College
Definition of College of Technology StudentsThose who are enrolled in a postsecondary course at a specialized training college, or who are receiving preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects prior to placement at the specialized training college.
