Ambassador IWAMA attends the 5th PPED meeting



 
 
    On April 11, Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori participated in the 5th Japan-Bangladesh Public Private Joint Economic Dialogue (PPED), which was held online for the first time in almost 4 years since 2019. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. HIRAI Hirohide, Vice-Minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and Mr. Mohammad Tofazzel Hossain Miah, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister of Bangladesh, attended by H.E.Mr. Shahabuddin Ahmed, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan, Mr. KOKUBU Fumiya, Chairman of the Japan-Bangladesh Committee for Commercial and Economic cooperation, Mr. Jashim Uddin, President of FBCCI, and more than 100 public and private sector representatives from Japan and Bangladesh.

    The meeting reported on some good progress made in improving several investment issues and introduced promising investment areas in Bangladesh, as well as new Japanese initiatives to support Bangladesh's industrial upgrading.

Today’s PPED meeting’s result and the progress that has been so far will be one of the deliverables to be mentioned and appreciated by our leaders and will be a milestone for further enhancement of the economic and business relations.”, said Ambassador IWAMA
