        The ‘Japanese Film Festival’ returned to Dhaka with 8 fantastic Japanese films screened at the main auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum on 26, 27 January and 2, 3 February 2018. During the 4-day festival, a huge number of Bangladeshi cinema fans enjoyed contemporary Japanese movies, offering Bangladeshi audience an all-compassing introduction to Japanese life and culture through the theme of ‘love, friendship and bonding.’

        A young Japanese movie lover, Mr. Tarek Rahman who majors in Japanese language at the University of Dhaka said that the event was ‘not only a medium of entertainment but a meaningful way of bridging the cultural understanding between Japan and Bangladesh. ’

        The Embassy of Japan and the Japan Foundation organise the Japanese film festival annually to introduce various aspects of Japan and familiarise Bangladeshi viewers with Japanese culture and life.
