Bangladeshi Film Fans Charmed by Japanese Film “Tora-san”
A legendary Japanese film “Tora-san’s Sunrise and Sunset” was screened at Bangladesh National Museum (BNM) on 6 January as a part of BNM’s ongoing “Juvenile and World Classic Film Show.” Some 500 Bangladeshi film funs and visitors, including a considerable number of youth relished the film.
One of the viewers said that “it was the first time for me to watch a Japanese film. I like Tora-san who is straightforward and caring. The story was fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it.” NTV, the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Foundation will broadcast two other “Tora-san” films later in this year.
The Embassy hopes that these films will familialise Japanese culture and faces amongst Bangladeshi people to further promote cultural ties between the two countries.
