Conferral of "the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette" upon Mr. M Jalalul Hai, Former Director, Board of Investment

On June 2, “the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette” was conferred to Mr. M Jalalul Hai at the official residence of Ambassador Masato Watanabe.
On April 29, 2016, the Government of Japan decided to confer the decoration on Mr. Hai in recognition of his significant contribution to strengthening economic relations between Japan and Bangladesh for more than 20 years.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Watanabe expressed his sincere appreciation to Mr. Hai for his strenuous effort in promoting Japanese investment in Bangladesh and expanding economic relationship between the two countries. Mr. Hai’s decoration embodies his undaunted pioneering spirit that successfully facilitated important investments from Japan to Bangladesh and spearheaded the economic relationship. The bilateral relationship has been further reaffirmed under the banner of Japan-Bangladesh Comprehensive Partnership when the two countries’ Honourable Prime Ministers met on the sideline of an outreach meeting during G7 Ise-shima Summit in Japan last week. Mr. Hai is the sixth Bangladeshi national who received the honour from the Government of Japan; the first is Mrs. Maleka Khan in 2001, who took part in such activities as opening the first Ikebana School in Bangladesh in 1975; the second is Dr. AKM Moazzem Hussain in 2004, who played a critical role in almost all voluntary-based organizations aiming to build a bridge between the people of the two countries for more than 30 years; the third is Mr. Momtazuddin Bhuiyan in 2008, who greatly promoted cultural exchange between the two countries for more than 30 years; the forth is Mr. Zubayer Pasha Choudhury in 2008, who devotedly worked at the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh for more than 30 years; and Mr. Muhammad Nurul Islam in 2014, who promoted mutual understanding and the enhancement of friendship between Japan and Bangladesh for more than 20 years.
