National Day Reception Celebrating the 65th Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan

  
 
  

    On February 27, Ambassador SAIDA Shinichi hosted a National Day Reception celebrating the 65th Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan at the Ambassador's official residence. H.E. Mr. Sk. Bashir Uddin, Hon'ble Adviser for the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Textile and Jute, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

    The reception was attended by around 300 guests from various walks of life, ranging from the Bangladeshi government and the diplomatic corps to local business people and cultural figures.
 
    In his opening remarks, Ambassador SAIDA expressed his commitment to supporting the establishment of a new government by Hon’ble Chief Adviser H.E. Dr. Muhammad Yunus and the interim government, and to advancing the bilateral relations between Japan and Bangladesh in a wide range of fields under the “Strategic Partnership”, working closely together with the guests of the reception.
 
    At the reception, Japanese companies and organizations based in Bangladesh set up booths to introduce their activities. In addition, Japanese scallops were cooked and served in front of the attendees. Ambassador SAIDA also presented a mascot of ‘Myakumyaku’, the Osaka-Kansai Expo’s official character, to H.E. Mr. Sk. Bashir Uddin, Hon'ble Adviser for the Ministry of Commerce. A dedicated booth was set up to promote the Osaka-Kansai Expo.
