On October 15, Ambassador Iwama invited National Defence College (NDC) officials, including participants in the study tour of Japan that was held from September 8 to 13 to a reception at his official residence to exchange views, including a report on the study tour.

In the opening remarks, Ambassador IWAMA stated that since Japan and Bangladesh elevated the bilateral relationship to a “Strategic Partnership” and signed the Memorandum of Cooperation and Exchanges formulated between the defense authorities from two countries in 2023, the bilateral cooperation in the field of defense has become increasingly important. In this context, it is truly significant that this study tour has become a large-scale people-to-people exchange in the field of defense, and he expressed his hopes for the future success of the participants in the study tour.

In addition, the NDC participants reported that the study tour was a special experience for them as they were able to learn about Japan's defense policy, defense equipment policy, and Self-Defense Forces activities, while also experiencing Japanese traditional culture and the kindness, generosity, and sincerity of the Japanese people.
