     On October 21, Mr. TAKAHASHI Naoki, Minister at the Embassy of Japan, attended an international symposium on disaster management in Dhaka, jointly organized by the Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management(A-PAD) and the Community Initiative Society(CIS). This symposium was part of A-PAD’s programs implemented with the support of the Japanese government. Emphasizing that disaster management is one of the key areas of cooperation between Japan and Bangladesh under the Strategic Partnership, Minister TAKAHASHI commended A-PAD and CIS for their excellent efforts and expressed his hope that this symposium would serve as a valuable opportunity to further strengthen networks under the auspices of A-PAD and CIS for disaster risk reduction and humanitarian assistance.
