Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Suzuki Norikazu visits Bangladesh.

From April 29 to 30, Mr Suzuki Norikazu, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, visited Bangladesh on an official visit.
In Dhaka, Minister Suzuki paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Tarique Rahman, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and delivered a personal letter from Prime Minister Takaichi. During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining and further advancing the bilateral relationship that has been built over the years under the "Strategic Partnership" between Japan and Bangladesh, in cooperation with the new administration.
In his meeting with H.E. Mr. Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid, Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Fisheries and Livestock, both sides confirmed their intention to promote cooperation between governments and private sectors to expand trade and investment in the food sector, as well as to boost exports of Japanese food products — taking advantage of the Japan-Bangladesh EPA signed in February this year.
Minister Suzuki also held an exchange of views with people involved in retail and hotel businesses on expanding the handling of Japanese food products in Bangladesh.
Furthermore, Minister Suzuki visited a refugee camp and a seafood processing facility operated by a Japanese company in Cox's Bazar.
