Opening Ceremony of the Japanese Film Festival at Stamford University.

On November 28, Stamford University Bangladesh and the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh, in collaboration with the Japan Foundation, co-hosted the opening ceremony of the Japanese Film Festival at the university campus. The festival featured two outstanding Japanese films:
🎬 5 Centimeters per Second (秒速5センチメートル) – A beautiful anime that explores love, distance, and the passage of time.
🎬 BL Metamorphosis (メタモルフォーゼの縁側) – A heartfelt story about human connection and self-discovery.
Ambassador IWAMA expressed his hope that these films would spark curiosity about Japan’s rich culture. He emphasized that cultural exchange helps build stronger relationships and deeper mutual understanding between nations.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Moniruzzaman delivered a warm welcome speech to the attendees—university students, especially those from the Department of Film and Media Studies and the Japanese Language Department.
A special thanks to the students of the Japanese Language Department for their delightful performance of Japanese songs. Students also enjoyed a Yukata trial, adding to the festive atmosphere.
