Japan Festival 2026 Held in Dhaka

           
 
        

    Dhaka, Bangladesh, 18 September 2026 — The Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh, in cooperation with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, hosted Japan Festival 2026 at Shilpakala Academy.
The Festival, which was held for the first time in seven years, opened with remarks by Ambassador SAIDA Shinichi and the Chief Guest, H.E. Nitai Roy Chowdhury, the Minister of Cultural Affairs.

    Following the ceremony, visitors enjoyed a variety of Japanese cultural performance. The Programme featured traditional Japanese martial arts demonstrations, including Karate and Kendo, followed by a live performance by the Japanese singer duo Bajna Beat, who performed with Bangladeshi artists. The Programme concluded with a spectacular performance by traditional Japanese dancer Mr. SENJU Einojo.

    On the fringe of the venue, visitors had the opportunity to participate in a range of hands-on Japanese cultural experiences including Sado (Tea ceremony) and other Japanese cultural experience. They also enjoyed Japanese cuisine prepared by a chef of the Embassy as well as traditional Japanese cultural displays featuring Bonsai and Ikebana. In addition, the students had the opportunity to consult with advisers about studying opportunities in Japan.

    The Festival provided an opportunity for the people of Bangladesh to experience the diversity and richness of Japanese culture.
