Japanese Film Festival Held at the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh.

On November 30, the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh, in collaboration with the Japan Foundation, hosted a Japanese Film Festival. The event, held at the Embassy, was honored by the presence of Mr. Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and renowned film director, who attended as the Chief Guest.
Ambassador IWAMA and his wife warmly welcomed the audience, which included university students, particularly those from the Departments of Film and Media Studies, Japanese Studies, and Japanese Language. In his opening remarks, Ambassador IWAMA expressed his hope that the students in attendance would be inspired to learn more about Japan through its films, fostering a deeper mutual understanding and friendship between the two nations.
Two exceptional Japanese films were screened during the festival: The Lines That Define Me (線は、僕を描く) and And, the Baton Was Passed (そして、バトンは渡された). These films offered a glimpse into the depth of Japanese storytelling, highlighting themes of self-discovery, family, and human connection.
The main aim of the film festival was to promote Japanese culture and strengthen cultural ties between Japan and Bangladesh.
Prior to the start of the festival, Ambassador Iwama and Honourable Advisor Mostofa Sarwar Farooki exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cultural cooperation and promoting further cultural exchanges between Japan and Bangladesh.
