On May 9, 2024, Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori participated as a Special Guest in the Bangladesh Business Summit “Bangla Tech Now” hosted by JETRO Dhaka. Ambassador IWAMA also joined a business lunch which was also hosted by JETRO with a Chief Guest of the Summit Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Honorable State Minister of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology. Mr. Yuji Ando, Chief Representative of JETRO Dhaka, Mr. Ahmedul Islam BABU, Chairman of BASIS, and Mr. Manabu Sugawara President of JBCCI joined both events.
 
This summit was held to take the opportunity of the visit of many Japanese businesses, local governments, and academia to attend a hackathon contest “CODE SAMURAI 2024”,  to be hosted by BJIT and Dhaka University in Dhaka.
 
Ambassador also hosted a dinner reception for participants and organizers of CODE SAMURAI 2024 on the night of 9th May.
The participants discussed the possibility of future cooperation in the ICT sector between Japan and Bangladesh and increasing of job opportunities in Japanese companies.
