Ambassador SAIDA Attends Hiroshima Day 2025 Commemoration at Liberation War Museum


The ceremony included a walk-through of a special photographic exhibition on Hiroshima by the Late Mr. Nawazesh Ahmed and was marked by the presence of paper-made white cranes prepared by students, in tribute to Sadako Sasaki. The event was graced by the participation of prominent figures including Mr. Mofidul Hoque, Trustee & Member Secretary, and Dr. Sarwar Ali, Trustee of the Liberation War Museum, alongside distinguished guests, students.
In his remarks, Ambassador SAIDA expressed heartfelt condolences for the victims of the student-led uprising that occurred one year ago, as well as those affected by the tragic aircraft crash on July 21. He reaffirmed Japan’s unwavering commitment to peace, as the only nation to have experienced atomic bombings during wartime. Reflecting on the devastation of Hiroshima 80 years ago, he honored the lives lost and underscored Japan’s responsibility to convey the reality of those events to future generations. The Ambassador also praised the meaningful participation of young students and their creation of white paper cranes—a powerful symbol of peace—inspired by Sasaki Sadako. He concluded by expressing hope for a peaceful future and ever-deepening friendship between Japan and Bangladesh.
