    From November 17 to 28, 2025, at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) Chittagong War Cemetery, a team from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan (MHLW) and the Japan Association for Recovery and Repatriation of War Casualties (JARRWC) carried out excavation work to recover the remains of those buried in the cemetery as Japanese soldiers who fell during WWII.

    Minister Takahashi from the Embassy of Japan attended a ceremonial guard of honour held by the Bangladesh Army on November 28.

    The Embassy of Japan expresses its deep gratitude to the Bangladeshi authorities, the CWGC, and all other partners for their full support to MHLW and JAAWC in ensuring the successful conduct of the work.
