On May 12–13, Ambassador Saida visited Chattogram.

On the first day, he visited Japanese companies operating in the Chattogram Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) and paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Chattogram, among other engagements. He toured the factories of two long-established Japanese companies that have been operating in the area for around 30 years, where he received briefings on their efforts in technology transfer, employee welfare, and future business development. At the Chattogram City Corporation, Ambassador Saida exchanged views on municipal governance and potential areas of cooperation with Japan.

On the second day, Ambassador Saida visited the Asian University for Women (AUW), the Chittagong Port Authority, and the BNS Nirvik. At AUW, he discussed the current state and challenges of women's education in Bangladesh and interacted with students. At the Chittagong Port Authority and the BNS Nirvik, he exchanged views on wide range of issues concerning Chattogram and beyond, including infrastructure development and Japan-Bangladesh security cooperation.

The Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh is delighted to leverage this visit by the Ambassador as an opportunity to further strengthen economic and cultural relations with Chattogram.
