Ambassador Saida attended the JICA Seminar “Development Cooperation in a Complex Global Environment


 
 
    On September 17, 2026, Ambassador Saida attended the JICA Seminar titled “Development Cooperation in a Complex Global Environment- Perspectives on Japan’s ODA and Future Partnerships” in Dhaka.  The Hon’ble Md. Abdul Bari, M.P., State Minister for Public Administration, also attended the seminar as Chief Guest.

    The seminar featured a keynote lecture by Professor NAKANISHI Hiroshi of the Graduate School of Law, Kyoto University, followed by a panel discussion among representatives of the Government of Bangladesh, JICA, and academia, who exchanged views on Japan’s ODA and future partnerships.

    In his remarks, Ambassador Saida reflected on Japan’s history of ODA supporting the development of South and Southeast Asian countries, including Bangladesh, in the post-war era, as well as its contribution to Bangladesh’s development since independence. He also highlighted the crucial and evolving role of development cooperation in further deepening and strengthening the Strategic Partnership between Japan and Bangladesh.
