     On 29 June, Ambassador SAIDA paid a courtesy call on Brigadier General A.K.M. Shamsul Islam, Hon’ble Defence Adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
    Ambassador SAIDA expressed his appreciation for the Defence Adviser's important role and exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas, including defence cooperation between Japan and Bangladesh.
    During the meeting, Ambassador SAIDA reaffirmed Japan's commitment to supporting the development of Bangladesh and further strengthening bilateral relations through various initiatives, including the Official Security Assistance (OSA) programme and cooperation in the transfer of defence equipment and technology.
