On September 2, Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori paid a courtesy call on Health and Family Welfare Adviser Ms. Nurjahan Begum.
 
During the meeting, Ambassador Iwama expressed his heartfelt sympathies to those affected by the severe flooding caused by heavy rains. He also mentioned Japan's continued cooperation in various fields, including health, welfare, and medical care. Furthermore, Ambassador Iwama emphasized the importance of supporting the further development of Bangladesh's health and welfare sector in collaboration with the interim government led by Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus. Ambassador Iwama stated that Japan aims to contribute to the improvement of health and welfare for the people of Bangladesh by leveraging Japanese experience and technology.

In response, Advisor Begum expressed her gratitude for Japan's longstanding contributions across various sectors, including health and welfare, as well as for Japan’s sympathies regarding the flood damage. Both sides shared the view that both countries will work closely together to develop effective cooperation tailored to actual needs in the future.
