Japan signed two loans and one grant aid agreements


Tokyo, May 30, 2025-
 
    On May 30, H.E. Mr. SAIDA Shinichi, Ambassador of Japan to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and H.E. Mr. Md. Daud Ali, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Japan, signed the Exchange of Notes on the Japanese loans titled “Development Policy Loan For Economic Reform and Strengthening Climate Change Resilience” (up to JPY 60 billion) and “Construction of Dual Gauge Double Line Between Joydebpur-Ishurdi Section Project (I)” (up to JPY 92 billion), as well as the grant aid titled “the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)” (up to JPY 606 million). The signing ceremony in Tokyo was witnessed by Ms. IKUINA Akiko, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan and Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Honorable Chief Advisor of the Government of Bangladesh.
 
    Seizing the opportunity of the official working visit by Honorable Chief Advisor Dr. Yunus to Japan (May 28-31), both sides reaffirmed the Strategic Partnership between the two countries and concurred in enhancing cooperation in a wide range of areas, including economic development.
