Ambassador of Japan delivered a lecture: “Contemporary Japan: Its Foreign Policy, Security and Development Strategy” at the National Defence College

On 27th September 2022, Mr. ITO Naoki, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh delivered a lecture “Contemporary Japan: Its Foreign Policy, Security and Development Strategy” as a guest speaker of the National Defence Course 2022 at the National Defence College (NDC), Bangladesh.
In the lecture, Ambassador ITO explained on the challenging security environment especially in Asia, and Japan’s Foreign and Defence policy as well as its international development cooperation strategy.
While stressing the significance of ruled-based international order, Ambassador ITO emphasized Japan’s engagement to development of Bangladesh, and maintain peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. In addition, Ambassador ITO also emphasized the importance of realizing the vision of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)” for peace, stability and prosperity in the region, in collaboration with Bangladesh.
Around 90 course members, including those from 17 countries attended the lecture and discussed various international issues and relationship between Japan and Bangladesh.
