50th anniversary of establishing Japanese Embassy in Dhaka

On June 30, the Embassy of Japan celebrated the 50th anniversary of establishing the Embassy in Dhaka. Japan recognized Bangladesh as a sovereign state on February 10th, 1972, soon after its independence. After that, Japan opened its embassy in Dhaka on July 1, 1972.
In the ceremony, H.E. Mr. ITO Naoki, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh conferred Commendations of Foreign Minister to Japanese Language and Culture program of the Institute of Modern Languages, University of Dhaka, and Department of Japanese Studies, University of Dhaka, and Mr. Matiur Rahman in recognition of significantly contribution to building the foundations of the current relationship between Japan and Bangladesh.
Ambassdor ITO also presented certificates Ambassador’s Commendation to NGO Ekmatra, Japanese music group Bajna Beat ,and Ms.Tanaka Chizuru , owner of Japanese restaurant “Nagasaki” at Uttara in Dhaka . The Commendations of Ambassador are awarded to individuals and groups to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and their country.
At the ceremony, Ambassador ITO expressed his sincere appreciation to those awarded for their great contribution to enriching our great friendship and expressed his hope for the future development of partnership between the two countries.
