Journey of the 4 city performances begins

‘Aksho Bosta Chal’ enthralled Sylhet audiences
jointly organized by the Embassy of Japan and Bangladesh
Shilpakala Academy
Drama
‘Aksho Bosta Chal’, a joint production of Embassy of Japan in
Dhaka and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, was staged for the
first time in Sylhet at the M Saifur Rahman Auditorium, on 12th
and 13th June. Honorable Mayor, Sylhet City
Corporation, Mr. Badrauddin Ahmed Kamran was present as the
Chief Guest while Mr. Masayuki Inoue, Ambassador of Japan, and
Mr. Kamal Lohani, Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala
Academy, graced the event as Special Guests.
Honorable
mayor, in his speech, showed his gratitude to the Japanese
Government for their contribution during the time of the
Liberation War.
Japanese
Ambassador, Mr. Masayuki Inoue expressed joy as he visited the
holy land of Sylhet for the first time. He congratulated the
team of ‘One Hundred Sacks of Rice’ (Aksho Bosta Chal) and
wished them success in their upcoming performances in Rajshahi,
Khulna and Mymensingh.
Mr.
Sajjadul Hassan, Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet presided the
ceremony. The drama ‘Aksho Bosta Chal’, winner of the 16th
Uchimura Prize 2008 of International Theatre Institute, was
enjoyed by a houseful of audiences.
