15 Bangladeshi young government officials will leave for Japan for Japan Development Scholarship (JDS)

 On 21 Aug, 2013, a send-off ceremony for the JDS fellows was held at the Japanese Ambassador’s residence. This year total 15 young Bangladeshi government officials were selected for JDS. They are leaving for Japan to study there for two years for Master's degree in various fields like: International Relations, Public Administration, Environmental Policy, etc.

 During the ceremony, H.E. Mr. Shiro Sadoshima, Ambassador of Japan said to JDS fellows “Please keep it in your mind that both Bangladeshi and Japanese people expect a great deal from you for the development of your own country through making the best use of knowledge and experience acquired in Japan.”

 The formal title of Japan Development Scholarship is "The Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)." This was established by the Government of Japan in 2001. JDS will contribute to enhancement of the knowledge and skills of young Bangladeshi officials so that they can play leading roles in the development of Bangladesh after completion of their studies. Up until now, a total of 213 JDS fellows were sent to Japan and 181 fellows have come back to Bangladesh with their accomplishments and ambitions to contribute to the country.
