Japan provides Judo Equipments to BKSP

Government of Japan has decided to donate US$28,381 to Bangladesh Institute of Sports (BKSP) to improve their JUDO facilities. JUDO is a typical Japanese martial arts and one of the Olympic sports
The grant contract for this project was signed today at the Embassy of Japan in Dhaka by H.E. Mr. Shiro Sadoshima, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh and Brigadier General Md. Emadul Haque ndc, Psc, Director General of BKSP. US$ 28,381 was made available for this project under the scheme of Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Project (GCGP).
At the signing ceremony, Ambassador Sadoshima expressed his satisfaction for being able to contribute to this project as the Japanese Government is currently promoting “Sport For Tomorrow Programme” which aims to promote the Olympic movement and sound upbringing of children. The Ambassador also stressed the importance of cultural and sports exchange between the two nations in addition to strengthening traditionally important relations in trade and economic development sectors in order to bring our bilateral relationship to the next level of comprehensive partnership.
DG Md. Emadul Haque expressed his gratitude for the people of Japan and said he is immensely pleased to be able to renew and upgrade the JUDO facilities so that promising Bangladeshi talents can develop their maximum potential. He also said he is grateful to Japanese Government about the previous grants and technical supports, including the successive 24 Japanese Overseas Cooperation Volunteers who worked as instructors of various kinds of sports at the BKSP, who have made positive impacts on the impressive success of BKSP in national and international arena.
