“Inauguration of an Art Exhibition by the Students of Faculty of Fine Arts of University of Dhaka at the Embassy of Japan

On October 16, the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh, in collaboration with Faculty of Fine Arts of University of Dhaka, launched a periodic exhibition inside the Embassy premises using its open space. The concept of this exhibition is “Unveiling the true face of the land of Artistic Bengal” with the aim of bringing the visitors of the Embassy closer to the unexplored world of fine arts in Bangladesh and contributing to rebranding Bangladesh. These paintings are exhibited for a period of four months and replaced by a new collection each period.

The current exhibition presents paintings by the following artists who are currently studying or who have graduated from Fine Arts Faculty: Jewel A Rob,Bikash Anando Setu,Bubly Barna,Sahid Kazi,Md. Pervaj Hasan,Azmol Hossain,Kamruzzaman,Md. Tanvir Jalal,Nabila Mehzabin,Ratnashwar Sutradhar, Sultan Ishtiaque,Syed Nazmus Sakib,Rokonuzzaman Uzzal,Ujjal Ghosh,Arafat Karim ,Sayed Fida Hossain.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Shiro Sadoshima, Ambassador of Japan, the artists, and Assistant Professor Mohammad Iqbal who curated the exhibition.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Sadoshima said he is very pleased to have this exhibition which illustrates the richness and aesthetics of the people of Bangladesh. Student representative,Mr. Parvez Hassan Regan, commented that it is their great honour to have their works exhibited at such a prestigious site.
